Summary

On an island off the coast of Ireland， guests gather to celebrate two people joining their lives together as one。 The groom: handsome and charming， a rising television star。 The bride: smart and ambitious， a magazine publisher。 It’s a wedding for a magazine， or for a celebrity: the designer dress， the remote location， the luxe party favors， the boutique whiskey。 The cell phone service may be spotty and the waves may be rough， but every detail has been expertly planned and will be expertly executed。

But perfection is for plans， and people are all too human。 As the champagne is popped and the festivities begin， resentments and petty jealousies begin to mingle with the reminiscences and well wishes。 The groomsmen begin the drinking game from their school days。 The bridesmaid not-so-accidentally ruins her dress。 The bride’s oldest （male） friend gives an uncomfortably caring toast。

And then someone turns up dead。 Who didn’t wish the happy couple well？ And perhaps more important， why？

I had heard a lot of good things about this book and was very excited to read it。 It was a disappointment， though。 I didn't like the characters and couldn't relate to how they think or what they did so that was a turn-off， also I think I just don't like this author's style of writing。 I won't be reading any more of her books。 In the end the "mystery" was kind of cool the way everything tied together but I had guessed a lot of what would happen throughout the book。 Overall it was an okay read tho I had heard a lot of good things about this book and was very excited to read it。 It was a disappointment， though。 I didn't like the characters and couldn't relate to how they think or what they did so that was a turn-off， also I think I just don't like this author's style of writing。 I won't be reading any more of her books。 In the end the "mystery" was kind of cool the way everything tied together but I had guessed a lot of what would happen throughout the book。 Overall it was an okay read though。 。。。more

No spoilers here。 This book was twisty， dark， engaging， and I LOVED it！ I loved the writing format。 You know early on there is a murder， but you don’t know WHO was murdered。 So instead of trying to figure out the killer， you are trying to figure out who was killed AND who the killer is！ So fun！ I thought I had it figured out multiple times， but in the end I was wrong about both。 Highly recommend。

I never guessed who did it。This book is hard to put down。 The characters seem like people I know， but they all have secrets。 As we learn more about each character， we find animosity or sympathy for them。 And then we learn our feelings might be missed placed。 Shocking ending。

It was good！ I really only liked Hannah and Olivia， and really wanted to hear from them more。 But it was enjoyable listening to everyone else， just so in the end you were excited to find out who would kill the jerk！ I listened on audiobook while at work。 Might listen again sometime to hear more details I missed。

I found it a little hard to connect with the characters of this book， especially in the first half。 But obviously the main plot was intriguing enough to keep me picking it up every night。 It really picks up steam as you near the end and I was pleasantly surprised with the multiple twists and the suspense。 I had slightly higher hopes but enjoyed the read and will check out other books by Lucy Foley。
